Summer memories

A thought popped into my head about the tomato plants my Italian Grandpa grew in large sauce cans in the back yard of a bucolic suburban neighborhood. The size of the yard, in my memory, is a vast, deep, very green space. On the stone patio, around the edges were tomato sauce cans with tomato plants that Grandpa Joe nurtured daily. The smell of the leaves is so strong and memory jogging.

A delightful memory, and one that inspires my work as a nature oil painting artist. The vibrant green space and the nurturing of plants reflect the essence of my oil on canvas landscape pieces, which capture both personal memories and a connection to the natural world. #tomatoplants #ipomodori #memories
