September=summer?fall?

This summer is different than prior summers, of course. We are well into climate change. Wild fires continue causing damage to life, the eco system, our air. It is very hot and humid on Long Island, NY. We had a tease of cool air, sweater-weather. My garden looks tired despite the echinacea, verbena, kirengeshoma, heleniums, and tardiva hydrangea. The wrens are noisey and busy in the yard. Hummingbirds are battling with the wasps at the feeder. Many types of pollinators are happily harvesting nectar of the sedum. I am collecting seeds to share and have some plants to move but await cooler days. And yes, I do think ahead to the excitement of next year. Gardens are hope-filled.
